Are you sure your log in account is an Admin account? Check that in Users & Groups preferences.
- The Login Items tab shows a list of apps that launch when you log into or start up this Mac. You can add apps to this list by dragging their icons to it, or by clicking the + icon and navigating to an app. Remove any apps by selecting them in the list and clicking the – icon. As I said above, administrators can change any settings on the Mac.
- Right-click the Battle.net desktop application icon and select Properties. Select the Compatibility tab. Click Change settings for all users. Under Privilege Level, check Run this program as administrator.

Launch Notepad With Admin Rights From Cortana Search. Cortana search also allows you to open an instance of Notepad with admin rights. You basically need to search for the app and then choose an option that launches it. Put your cursor in the Cortana search box and type in Notepad. When Notepad appears in the search results, right-click on it.
What are the associated permissions for the program's file in your Applications folder and what permissions are associated with Applications folder itself? They should be, respectively:
Mac Admin Account
- System r/w; Wheel r/only; Everyone r/only
- System r/w; Admin r/w; Everyone r/only

Check these and, if needed, change them by selecting the file or folder. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. The Sharing & Permissions panel is at the bottom. To make a change you first need to click on the little lock icon and authenticate with your admin password.
